Hey Bozu My thoughts exactly. We'll be taking inner tubes to ride the "rapids" down, that should be more durable than the rafts. And not sure what dam you're speaking of. I know we passed the Karsten st. water tank but there was no dam. There were these huge chunks of cement though that were totally...

thanks 007. Next time, we're taking a gps. That'll give us a real accurate reading as to where we are. Heres a few more pics. http://www.postimage.org/Pq2LCYCi.jpg This is one of the larger jeweled cics we caught. http://www.postimage.org/gx1ffQq0.jpg More deep and cold muddy water.. Hey Blaine
Cool Picture and nice sized smb. How far have you ever hiked up the stream? I think we may have gone about a little more than 3/4 mile past the lower wahiawa heights water tower. This is just an estimate and not many landmarks around to judge.

Wilson Stream Adventure

After the rain subsided we headed up the mountain streams of lake wilson the other day. The water was pretty high with a pretty fast current. http://www.postimage.org/aV2lTsu9.jpg The last time we got a couple of small mouth. This time no small mouth in sight. The water was very cold and muddy. We d...

Theory-running out of shad?

This time of the year when the bass are hitting anything you throw at them, could it be that they've consumed a majority of the newly born baitfish in the lake so they go after whatever looks like food? I see a ton of tiny tilapia at the points but what about the shad? Can the shad population actual...

For Marine fishes, when they get that skinny, its usually terminal or they need to feed constantly for weeks just to get their body mass back. Don't know how it is with freshwater fishes. I've caught a few like that and thought that it was their post-spawn weight and once breeding season was over, t...

I guess what I was asking was once you start live baiting (any non specific area) and the bass start their feeding frenzy, they get lazy and not chase after lures? I know their is no scientific way to prove this and skill level might be a factor. Just curious.

Lazy bass

You guys think its possible for the Tucs to get "lazy" with all the easy food being offered by us live baiters? Especially at Blue boat Point? I ask because I havent had a hit on a lure or a fly in a long time. This isn't a live-bait bashing topic, just curious.

the hunt for SMB

To all you guys who used to fish the feeder streams above the lake as kids years ago and wondered if the smallmouth bass are still surviving, heres the answer- they are. We hiked down- yes down crazily sloped sides and through trail-less brush of the valley up Wahiawa Heights. Only to finally see wa...
