Stan, Big Tuc's don't eat big baits.............only the small feeders. I would never waste my time soaking a big bait. Heck, don't even hook the feeders, just toss them in the lake and watch them swim freely away...... swim little gold fish, swim.... Mel - Big Kahuna----PETA lover  "...

Just booked my 4th Lake Fork guide trip for June 30th! Very excited, except I am afraid the heat will be unbearable. Trying another guide this time, even though my last guide was great. I figure I'll try a different guide every year for at least 3 more years, and then settle on one that I'll stick ...

Greetings Jeff, Welcome to the islands! As you have read already, senko style baits are a favorite here. Stan and Chris have mastered the "ways", espically with the white 2" senko. Though the senko bait drive's me crazy (wife has caught 3 over 10lb's - Southern Cal), I've always had luck on the real...

Skunked, You do know your tackle, "old mighty tackle ho" 8) . With your fine arsenal of fishing gear, you must have one of those fancy glass display counter(just like at Macy's, Bloomingdale's, JCPenny's). This way, you can just enjoy, looking at your reels everyday. I have all my reels in so...

Stan, Do your homework before you leave in May. I belive you can google: Tackleberry fishing and Sansui tackle stores. There are others, but those two are my favorites. At Tackleberry, 50% - 75% are used tackle inventory. I will spend a couple hours on each visit, just going thru, looking for bargin...

Skunked, I checked out your reel pictures from last year, and I noticed that your baitcasting reel collection are both right and left hand models. Just wondered if you fish both? I tried it for about two months and had to go back to the right hand models only. It ended up messing with my bait flippi...

Fished for a couple of hours across from boy scout island at the public fishing area on Monday. It was getting dark and I was about to call it a day, but got a jarring strike on a red Lew's crankbait (cheap stuff from Bass Pro Shops). It was about 3 pounds. Salvaged my day and got rid of the "skunk...

Hey All, I've had similar luck with large mouth bass. Though it's often refered to as "dead sticking". If the winds are up, just let your baits sit, and watch for the explosions  Just cast out your floating lure ( I usually fish 5" - 8" trout swim baits), just twitch a little, and wait. Someti...

Stan,

Atleast you got out and fished!!

I was on island, 11/1-11/15, and didn't get a day off to fish. Too much work and no time to play.

Next time 8) for sure.

Glad to see your getting some good action, on the bigger Tuc's.
