Greetings All, It's ashamed that this issue has not been resolved. Besides health issues, it's an eye sore  But it doesn't stop there, many homes along the lake front use the their back yard area as a dump, throwing what they can into the lake. Some people just don't care. I strongly believe t...

Ca-bass,

I agree with BSP, there are better options. I have one of the Johnny Morris bait casters. Not that bad of a reell. Just a little heavy, and doesn't have the free spool match of Shimano and Diawa.

However, you can't beat the cost.

Greetings All, I agree with Stan, we need to bring in the Barramundi! I had the chance to fish for barramundi a few years back in Darwin, Australia. Strong and powerful fighters, who love to jump. Though the numbers weren't really big (largest about 20 lbs), just there sure presence is impressive. W...

Greetings John, Glad to see someone else from SoCal throwing the big wooden swim baits. I had some success throwing Matt lures swim baits last year, fishing with Stan. Didn't bring any big wooden baits, but will next time. However, I've had much success throwing the big, big live baits. The bigger, ...

Boatless, Your right, "big bait, big fish" season. 8) Don't be afraid of the big baits.......hook'm and let them swim... I find that most of the bigger fish, hold back (deeper), than the smaller aggressive Tuc's. Big fish have to eat too..... Remember, let the big fish eat the bait.....................

Honorable Royal One(Stan), Today was your day!!! 8) As you mentioned, everything you threw, caught fish!!! It got really sick, when you started catching fish with the bare hook. Blue boat point was on. Tuc's every direction, with fair number of large mouth bass mixed in too. The highlight of the day...

Greetings All,

As Skunked mentioned, you can't go wrong with either Shimano or Daiwa reels. Majority of my fresh water reels are Shimano and Daiwa.

It all comes down to application and how much you want to spend.....

Greetings Boatless, You asked the million dollar question, "fast taper or x-fast taper". It all comes down to application. Drop shot, worm, I like x-fast taper. I perfer the "feel" If I'm throwing crank baits or bigger worms, lizards, I use a fast taper, with more back bone. Another issue, is matchi...

Hey Ken, Sorry to report, but I won't be able to fish with you this time(I'm currently in Singapore 8) ). Hopefully, you'll be able to get out and do some surf fishing. If the opportunity is there, you might want to consider either 3/4 day local or 3/4 island trip. Yellowtail are close to "going off...

Kids Fishing - Start'em young, you can't go wrong.

Some of my best days fishing, was catching a few, but fishing with my girls made it "priceless". :D

Now, when they start "outfishing you", than it's all good

007, Sorry for the delay. Been too busy with work, not much time to fish :x As for swim baits, it all depends on the types you get. Wake baits - slow retrieve, pushes a lot of water on the surface. Slow roller type - just cast and work along the bottom slow. Paddle swim bait - cast any conditions, s...
